Obviously a
Photographer
Appearing at the Los Angeles Public Library,
Gary Leonard sports an extra limb, strap
an extension of his neck.
Not a natural
speaker, he’s hunched from the carried
weight over a microphone and mumbling
descriptions of slides flashing on screen.
For the audience’s sake, snapshots speak:
rockers in the eighties’ underground music scene.
After his presentation, someone asks, “Do you go
anywhere without your camera?”
The answer is so
obvious, I want to note, but first must borrow
a pen and anything that’s not a tourist brochure.
